What is EBlink’s core technology?

EBlink’s patented wireless fronthaul technology provides a wireless connection between the base station baseband unit processing element (BBU) and the Remote Radio Heads (RRH/RRU).

What is a remote radio head (RRH)?

Modern base stations consist of two parts, the Base Band Unit (BBU) and Remote Radio Heads (RRH/RRU). They are usually connected by optical fiber and communicate via industry-standard interfaces such as CPRI, OBSAI or ORI.
Most mobile operators deploy remote radio heads close to the antenna in order to benefit from higher radio performance.

What is fronthaul?

Fronthaul is the link between a base station’s or NodeB’s Base Band Unit (BBU) and Remote Radio Heads (RRH/RRU). It is distinct from backhaul, where the link is between the baseband unit and the core network.
EBlink’s FrontLinkTM system preserves downlink and uplink radio performance and achieves radio KPIs comparable to those obtained with an optical fiber connection.
It allows up to three independent channels on a single wireless fronthaul link supporting 3-sector site configurations or tri-band remote sectors, i.e a total of 7.5 Gb/s CPRI signal, carried over less than 70MHz.
